This tour is one of the most beautiful treks in the white mountain range, where the main appeal is the view of the snow capped Alpamayo mountain, considered the most beautiful mountain of the world.
Day 1: Huaraz – Free day
Very early in the morning, arrival in the Huaraz city. Pick up at the bus station and transfer to the hotel. Acclimation, free day in Huaraz.
Day 2: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral
Our private bus will drive us to the northern side of the Huaraz city, where we will walk through the Callejón de Huaylas. We will see the typical cities of: Carhuaz, Yungay, and will finally arrive at Caraz. From there, we will go to the Cashapampa Base Camp (2,900 masl). In Cashapampa, our muleteers and their donkeys will be waiting for us, to carry our camping equipment and food. We will begin our first day of trekking as far as Llamacorral (3,800 m), where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Llamacorral – Taullipampa
8:00 a.m. This is the second day of our trekking. We will start walking after having breakfast in the camp. We will pass through the Ichic Cocha (3,850 masl) and Hatun Cocha (3,900 masl) lagoons. We will then have a look at the most stunning panoramic view of the snow-capped Alpamayo, Artesonraju, and Aguja mountains. We will walk downhill as far as the place called Taullipampa, where we will camp. We will have dinner and spend the night in Taullipampa.
Day 4: Taullipampa – Punta Unión Pass – Tuctupampa
8:00 a.m.: breakfast in the camp. We will walk for about 4 hours until we arrive at the Punta Unión pass (4,750 masl), and will have the most spectacular view of the mountains, landscapes, lagoons with turquoise-colored waters, the blue sky, and fresh air. We will continue our hike as far as Tuctupampa (4,200 masl). Dinner and night in Tuctupampa.
Day 5: Tuctupampa – Pucajirca pass – Quisuar
8:00 a.m.: breakfast in the camp. We will continue our hike until we come closer to the Pucajirca pass (4,640 masl), at about 10 a.m. On this day, we will also be able to enjoy beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains, such as Taulliraju, Chacraraju, Chopicalqui, etc. From this spot, we will zigzag down the mountain as far as the Huecroncocha lagoon. We will then arrive at the camp in Quisuar (3,950 masl), where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: Quisuar – Tupatupa – Jancapampa
8:00 a.m.: breakfast in the camp. On that day, after walking for almost 3 hours, we will arrive at the Tupatupa pass (4,400 masl). We will go down to the base camp of the snow-capped Pucajirca, and will then arrive at our next camp, in Jancapampa (3,600 masl). Dinner and night in Jancapampa.
Day 7: Jancapampa – Yanacon – Huillca
8:00 a.m.: breakfast in the camp. We will start walking until we arrive at the Yanacon pass (4,610 masl), still enjoying some landscapes among the most beautiful ones. We will then begin to descend as far as the Huillca camp (4,000 masl), where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 8: Huillca – Tayapampa
8:00 a.m.: breakfast in the camp. We will reasonably walk for two hours as far as the Mesapata pass (4,460 masl). We will continue our trek along the Moyobamba ravine. After walking for a few more hours, we will arrive at the Caracara pass, where there will be our next camp (4,400 masl).
Day 9: Tayapampa – Jancarurish – Ruinapampa
8:00 a.m.: after having breakfast at our camp, we will continue our trek in the direction of the Caracara pass (4,830 masl), from which we will have splendid views. You will have the opportunity to observe the north side of the snow-capped Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Santa Cruz, and Milluaraju mountains. We will go down for 2 hours, heading for Jancarurish and, after 2 hours walking, we will arrive at Ruinapampa (4,100 masl). We will spend the night in Ruinapampa.
Day 10: Ruinapampa – Osoruri
8:00 a.m.: after having breakfast at our camp, we will continue our zigzaagging walk as far as the Ichicvientona pass (4,770 masl). This represents a walk of about 4 hours. We will have beautiful views of the snow-capped Santa Cruz and Milluaraju mountains. We will walk for an hour until we reach Osoruri (4,560 masl), where we will spend the night.
Day 11: Osoruri – Cullicocha – Calamina
8:00 a.m.: breakfast in the camp. 1 hour walk as far as Jatunvientona (4,860 masl). We will then come down, heading for the Cullicocha lagoon, and will see the base camp of Santa Cruz. In the end, we will arrive at our next camp, in Calamina (3,900 masl); where we will spend the night.
Day 12: Calamina – Hualcayan – Huaraz
8:00 a.m.: This will be the last breakfast of our trek. We will descend as far as Hualcayán (3,000 masl); we will walk for about 3 hours. We will then report to the Huascarán National Park. Our bus will be waiting for us, to drive us to the Huaraz city. Arrival at the Huaraz city at about 4 p.m.
Arrival at the Huaraz city, transfer to the hotel.
Day 13: Huaraz – Transfer
Continental breakfast in Huaraz. At the given time, transfer to the bus station.
