Day 1: Arequipa
Transfer from the airport to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Arequipa, called the “White City”, for its white color from the volcanic rock (ashlar). You will visit Yanahuara, Carmen Alto (Chachani viewpoint), the beautiful Convent of Santa Catalina, the Plaza de Armas and the main streets. Accommodation in a hotel.
Day 2: Arequipa – Colca Canyon
Very early in the morning, a bus will take us to Chivay (3,650 m), a village from which we will be able to see where the Colca Canyon begins. Along the trip, we will appreciate the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, in which vicunas and guanacos can be seen. We will arrive at Canocota, where we will start a short trek during which we will admire the Colca Canyon depth and will pass through small villages. We will then reach La Calera, where we will enjoy hot baths, before relaxing in our hotel in Chivay.
Day 3: Condor Cross
Early after breakfast, a bus will take us to the Condor Cross. On the way, we will see small villages with beautiful traditions and vantage points. After visiting the Condor Cross, we will start our trip back to have lunch. We will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 4: Chivay – Puno
In the morning, the bus will take us straight to the city of Puno, and we will visit Sillustani, before having lunch in Juliaca. We will stay the night in Puno.
Day 5: Puno – Uros – Amantani
We will pick you up very early at your hotel, to take a boat in the lake port. After a 45-minute drive, we will arrive at the Uros floating islands, where we will go on a visit for about 50 minutes, and will have the opportunity to buy hand-crafted products of the place. We will then continue our trip towards the Amantani island, where the locals will welcome us into the village. We will go and stay there and, after lunch, we will visit the main appeals of the island and learn more about the locals traditions. We will spend the night in the families’ houses.
Day 6: Amantani – Taquile – Puno
We will leave after having breakfast, in the direction of the Taquile island. When we arrive, we will walk a little bit through the touristic places of the island, and will have time to buy hand-crafted products of the place. In the afternoon, we will leave to Puno, where we will spend the night.
